Emily Yu-Chen Liang (nata nel 1991) è nata e cresciuta a Taichung, Taiwan. È una fotografa documentarista e artista che è sempre stata affascinata e innamorata degli alberi dalle forme particolari che caratterizzano quotidianamente i giardini e i paesaggi del Regno Unito.
Il suo lavoro abbraccia la natura, il tempo e lo spazio. Mentre studiava fotografia alla Goldsmiths University di Londra negli anni 2020, si è interessata alla fotografia di alberi e alla cianotipia. Le fotografie di Emily celebrano gli alberi britannici, allegramente ispidi, spinosi, giganteschi e bizzarri, che ha scoperto tutt'intorno a lei. Il suo lavoro esplora le connotazioni tra le comunità di alberi urbani e l'albero evolutivo della vita sulla Terra.
Di recente, con l'aiuto di Libby Jones, ha sperimentato la tecnica della cianotipia, ricercando un'alternativa più ecologica alla stampa fotografica.

Ha partecipato come fotografa a 'In Lucid Dreams We Dance' EP1 al Chisenhale Art Place e EP2 all'IKLECTIK (2023). Ha anche lavorato come graphic designer per le letture di opere in corso di 'Happy Together' all'Omnibus Theatre e 'The Other Me in the World' al The Glitch (2022).
